Ringing In The New Year

Happy New Year!
I hope the new year is off to a good start for you. I headed to New York to see the ball drop in Times Square. You may be asking, “Is it as bad as everyone says–no bathrooms, diapers (!!), hours of standing???” Well, for us, no, it wasn’t like that.

I went with my two daughters and oldest granddaughter. We had dinner beforehand and then went out to the street to celebrate the new year. To describe it in one word-MAGICAL! I wish you could have all seen it.

AS A BONUS, the I Love New York Billboard displayed the cover of Kaleidoscope of Secrets on NYE. (See photo!). The book is on a TBR 2025 list and I was lucky enough to get it advertised in Times Square. Bonus: it will also be on the NASDAQ board 100 times in January. So, if you’re in NY this month, look for it and send me a photo!!!)

Here are a few other highlights of our whirlwind adventure.
We spent an afternoon at the Museum of Modern Art, took an evening walk to Rockefeller Center, and attended the Broadway show Moulin Rouge.
Have you ever visited New York? If you did, what was your favorite memory? Not been there? What would be on your must-do list?

BOOK UPDATE
It’s not lost on me that while my current book is based in South Carolina, New York plays an important role. Vivienne, the main character, has a cousin who’s more like a sister. Corrine is an actress and lives in New York. After Vivienne faces one challenge too many, she decides it’s time to visit her cousin, Cori, in New York. Sounds perfect, right? Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans???
I’ve never lived in a “big city” like Chicago or New York, but I’m clearly drawn to them. I find they provide an interesting level of intrigue and history to a story.
My current manuscript is getting closer to completion, and I’m currently noodling book titles. Updates soon!

What are you up to?
I’d love to hear from you.
What are you reading?
Is it warm or you in the middle of a snow-mageddon like we are?
Are you reading Kaleidoscope of Secrets? Send me a pic of you and the book and you'll be entered into a drawing for an early release of my next book!
I’m off to write. Wishing you a wonderful start to 2025.
