READER’S CORNER 📚
Reading is timeless, don’t you agree? It’s for anyone at any age. And we’ve learned that the best books never go out of style. For some fresh ideas on what to read, check out these two options!
Do the kids in your life like to read? I’m happy to say the tweens and teens in my life are avid readers. One way I bridge the age gap is to simultaneously read the book they are reading. Currently, my twelve-year-old granddaughter and I are reading Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (book two in a series). It’s great for bonding and gives helpful insight into what they are being exposed to in terms of adult content and themes. Even though Young Adult or Juvenile Fiction might not be your genre of choice, be flexible and volunteer to read “what they are reading”. This could result in some incredible chats.
Oldies, but goodies. I’m talking about the classics. To be honest, I haven’t read them all and my to-be-read list includes many classic books. You can find these gems, at a fraction of the retail price, in independent bookstores (#basementbookskc and @trailheadbookskc–a couple of my local fav’s) and thrift stores. I’ve inserted a picture of a handful of the books currently on my TBR list. Email me and let us know what classics you still want to read or re-read!
