  • READER’S CORNER! Upcoming Event & Reviews

Non-Fiction Bucket List

  • Today, I’ve attached a list of books I’ve read and consider some of my FAVORITE non-fiction reads. There are a lot of others I love, including biographies, but the ones I’ve listed have made it to my top picks. Have you read any of these? What books are on your list?

Email me with your comments and suggestions. sandy@sandyclements.com.

(PS. Our next newsletter will include my FICTION bucket list. Share the name of a book you think MUST be on that list.)

TRAVEL: ¡A Visit to Puerto Vallarta!

Have you ever been to Mexico? In early April, I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and it was paradise. I wish I could send you a dozen photos because there was so much to see and do. Amazing restaurants, open markets, and beautiful views. A few of my favorite places to eat included Si Señor, in the heart of PV, Canto Palmares, an amazing restaurant right on the beach in the middle of nowhere, and The River Café. So good! (See photo below.) The staff was welcoming and provided excellent service.

I loved spending time in the open market. The photo below shows a woman (NOT ME) getting a pedicure. The procedure is known as a fish spa treatment or ichthyotherapy and involved soaking your feet in a basin of water filled with tiny “doctor fish” or Garr Rufa, which eats dead skin off your feet!

Mark your calendar: Next week is Independent Bookstore Day.

One Day. Fifty States. 1,600+ Bookstores.

This national one-day party is held the last Saturday in April and celebrates independent bookstores across the country. Through exclusive books and literary items, contests, cupcakes, and everything in between, it’s a party you don’t want to miss!

I’m proud to have my book, Kaleidoscope of Secrets, in several of my local independent book retailers including, Basement Books in Liberty, MO, and Trailhead Books in Raytown, MO. Other retail locations that sell my book are Holy Grounds Coffee and Shoppe in Liberty, MO, and the Rusty Sugar in Nashville, Indiana.

Please take time on Saturday, April 26th to visit and support your local bookstore.

(Do you or someone you know own a retail store and would like to sell the award-winning Kaleidoscope of Secrets? Email or message me!

Reviews: You’ve got the power!!!

Read any amazing books lately? Want to share your thoughts about them? Grammerly.com says, “A book review is a great way to shed insight and give your opinion on a book you’ve read, whether it’s nonfiction, a mystery novel, or a collection of poems.”

Reviewing can be as simple as rating the book with stars. I’m working on reaching a total of 1000 reviews and if you liked Kaleidoscope of Secrets and haven’t reviewed it, I’d appreciate it if you would! You can review on Amazon, Goodreads, or Bookbub.
